Thanks to their transparency, and resistance to heat and radiation, WACKER silicones ensure a high, uniform light yield compared to conventional epoxy-based encapsulants. Both flexible silicone elastomers and hard silicone resins are used to make lenses and encapsulate diodes. Together with our customers, we develop transparent materials with refractive indexes R.I of 1.4 and >1.5.
