Optimized Quality for Wall Plasters
Mineral finishing plasters generally consist of mineral binders, such as lime and cement, fillers, pigments, and additives such as cellulose ether and starch ether, as well as organic polymeric binders – chiefly VINNAPAS ® dispersible powders. In dispersion-based plasters, the VINNAPAS® dispersion takes on the role of the polymeric binder, improving the property profile of the plaster.
In silicone resin plasters and organosilicate plasters, SILRES® BS silicone resins and water-repellent additives from WACKER contribute to the protection and preservation of valuable building stock. The silicone resin network renders the capillaries hydrophobic: water runs off in beads, but the pores remain open to vapor diffusion.
VINNAPAS® and SILRES® bestow additional benefits on all kinds of plaster systems: they reduce capillary water uptake without affecting the water-vapor permeability, improve abrasion resistance, increase flexibility (through lower elastic modulus), ease of processing, relaxation properties, flexural and tensile strength, and improve adhesion – even to difficult substrates.
There is also the option of adding a CAVAMAX®/CAVASOL® fragrance complex to your water-based plasters. A cyclodextrin (CAVAMAX®/CAVASOL®) encapsulates an essential oil and protects it from evaporation and oxidation. The fragrance is then released from this molecular inclusion complex under the action of moisture – and your plaster boasts an additional feature.
