Injecting Silicone for Dryer Walls
Chemical injection is an established way of protecting against capillary rising damp in a wall. The silicone is injected through holes drilled in the masonry, where it spreads out across the wall and builds up a horizontal barrier. It stops the capillary rising damp and entrained harmful substances and allows the masonry to dry out. A large number of products for chemical injection are available to suit various requirements. Particularly popular are aqueous compounds, such as the WACKER SILRES® BS series of silicone microemulsions.
