Offset printing is an indirect, flat-screen printing process that is widely employed for books, newspapers and packaging. It works by exploiting differences in wetting behavior of different materials.
In offset printing inks, hydrophobic HDK® grades regulate the water content and thus reduce scumming and emulsification. HDK® improves the smooth transfer of the ink to the print medium, enhances the color intensity and produces a superior image due to sharp raster formation. The HDK® is usually added in concentrations of 0.5 to 3 %.
