The SILRES® High Performance line from WACKER is particularly suitable for use in marine and protective coatings because they vastly increase the resistance of coated metal surfaces to ultraviolet radiation, highly corrosive influences and chemicals. SILRES® High Performance products are organofunctional polysiloxanes that serve as binders or curing agents in coating systems for single coats and topcoats. Zinc-dust coatings based on ethyl silicate provide an outstanding anti-corrosion effect.
VINNOL® products as additives in marine coatings contribute good adhesion to metal and wood. Moreover, they have an anti-yellowing effect and boost the degree of gloss and leveling. Coatings formulated with VINNOL® are characterized by high water resistance and good pigment wetting. They are the preferred co-binders for vinyl tar paints because they improve adhesion, thixotropy and sagging properties.
