Our silicone resins, ethyl silicates and polyvinyl butyrals and VC copolymers serve as binders and pigments for formulating demanding anti-corrosive coatings.
WACKER ethyl silicates, sold under the name SILIKAT TES, are proven binders for the formulation of high-quality zinc-dust coatings for shop primers, primers and high-build paints. Zinc-dust coatings containing ethyl silicate binders make an excellent contribution to corrosion protection. They are easy to weld, cure rapidly at low temperatures, and can be easily over-painted with all conventional paint systems.
HDK® reduces the extent to which the zinc dust settles in zinc-dust paints, makes them easy to stir and prevents gas formation. HDK® is added to anti-corrosive coatings in concentrations of 0.2 to 2 % to control the rheology.
VINNOL® surface coating resins containing carboxyl groups are ideal for formulating primers and corrosion-protection paints because of their excellent metal adhesion combined with high resistance to acids, alkalis and salt solutions, their good pigment wetting and their low water absorption.
