Dr. Wilhelm Sittenthaler joined Wacker Chemie AG’s Executive Board on May 8, 2008. His contract initially runs until 2013. As a result, the Group’s Executive Board continues to consist of four members. Dr. Peter-Alexander Wacker, former President & CEO, stepped down at the Annual Shareholder Meeting that same day and is now Supervisory Board chairman. His successor as president & CEO is Dr. Rudolf Staudigl.
WACKER announced the management switchover back in December 2007. “The Executive Board’s personnel changes are thus complete, ensuring long-term continuity in WACKER’s management,” said Peter-Alexander Wacker, Supervisory Board chairman.
Dr. Wilhelm Sittenthaler has been with the company for 28 years. He became chairman and CEO of WACKER’s wholly-owned subsidiary Siltronic AG on May 1, 2003 and retains these positions alongside his new responsibilities as a WACKER Executive Board member.

Dr. Wilhelm Sittenthaler studied chemical engineering at the Technical University of Vienna, earning a doctorate in technical sciences. Since 1980, he has held various posts at WACKER and spent many years in Japan,
where he initially headed the regional Marketing & Sales department and then the Chemicals division. In 1996, he took over as head of the Fluids/Resins/Silanes business at WACKER’s Burghausen site. Four years later, i.e. in 2000, Dr. Sittenthaler was appointed to Wacker-Chemie GmbH’s Executive Board.
He has been Chairman and CEO of Wacker Chemie AG’s wholly owned subsidiary Siltronic AG since May 2003.
