WACKER has developed a patented manufacturing process that should lower production cost by creating a more efficient and scalable synthesis for Amdoxovir®. Under the terms of the agreement, RFS Pharma will have exclusive rights to the new and improved process for the synthesis of Amdoxovir®. Amdoxovir® belongs to the class of nucleoside analogue reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs) and has been safely administered to over 200 adults in seven Phase 1 and 2 clinical studies.
