WACKER Asahikasei Silicone Co., Ltd. is celebrating its tenth anniversary today. The company, headquartered in Tokyo and with a production facility in Akeno, was founded in 1999 as a joint venture between Munich-based chemical group WACKER and Asahi Kasei Chemicals Corporation. 50 percent held by WACKER, it has some 100 employees on its payroll who produce and market silicone products such as rubber grades, emulsions and fluids for applications in the electronics, automotive, construction and textile industries, to name but a few.
