At 22 percent each, the semiconductor and solar industries accounted for the largest shares of demand for WACKER products in 2011. A total of eight percent flows to the chemical processing industry (of which five percent for “adhesives”). The WACKER Group is one of the leading global suppliers in these three areas. At 20 percent, the construction sector also accounts for a large share of chemical production. Further industries that purchase WACKER products include energy/electronics (four percent), as well as textiles (four percent) and automotive (four percent).
