Invitation to the Annual Shareholders' Meeting

Dear Shareholders,

2008 was a successful year for the WACKER Group. Although the global economic downturn left its mark during the 4th quarter of 2008, we were able to achieve our sales and earnings goals. Overall, we increased consolidated sales by more than 14 percent to €4.3 billion. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) rose by 5 percent to €1.06 billion (2007: €1.00 billion).

We would be pleased to give you more details in person about our financial results and business strategy.
