Creating Tomorrow's Solutions

Corporate GovernanceCorporate Governance

The term Corporate Governance covers a company’s entire management and supervisory system. This includes: organization, corporate principles, codes, and internal and external control and supervisory mechanisms.
Published in 2002, the German Corporate Governance Code is based on internationally and nationally recognized standards of good and responsible governance. The code covers essential regulations on the governance and supervision of listed companies.
The code aims to promote the confidence of national and international investors, customers, financial markets, employees and general public in the management and supervision of listed German stock corporations.
In accordance with the German Stock Corporation Act (§ 161 AktG), Wacker Chemie AG, as a listed company, is obligated to declare the extent to which the code’s recommendations have been and are being complied with, and to declare those recommendations that have not been or are not being applied (“comply or disclose”).
The WACKER Group has issued its first declaration of conformity on the Corporate Governance Code here .
