WACKER attaches great importance to the localization of R&D and the development of local talents. In close collaboration with local customers, our experienced application experts develop applications and products that meet the Chinese market's needs. As a focal point for the transfer of WACKER expertise, the technical centers hold various training programs and offer customers in-plant support. Also through the technical centers, WACKER has been continuously strengthening its cooperation with standardization bodies, institutions and universities in China to support the establishment of modern industry standards and the promotion of advanced materials.

Shanghai Technical Center
WACKER's Shanghai Technical Center, covering an area of over 3,000 square meters, is located in Zhang Jiang High Tech Park. It houses more than 10 application labs for our silicone and polymer products, serving a wide range of industries from electronics, construction and coatings to textiles, cosmetics and paper. With two expansions in eight years, this state of-the-art technical center is the competency center of WACKER in Greater China and Asia to some extent.
Beijing Technical Center and WACKER ACADEMY
To support the company’s rapid business development in China, a new technical center was opened in early 2007 in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area. Its primary aim is to better serve WACKER’s construction polymer customers in North China. The same location is shared by the WACKER ACADEMY. The training and competence center’s target group includes customers, distributors, strategic market partners and employees.
